This course is to provide students with an overview of the application of epidemiological principles and concept in various infectious diseases. In so doing, it attempts to illustrate the application of epidemiology of infectious diseases in prevention and control of diseases in public health setting. The emphasis is on study of epidemiology of common infectious diseases including emerging and reemerging infectious diseases and their
application in disease prevention and control measures, study disease control programmes strategies and activities, learning current laboratory tests available to assist in the diagnosis of communicable diseases and understand the infectious diseases control activities at the port entries.
