This course highlights the importance of understanding organizational behaviour, by drawing from various perspective of study such as management, anthropology, sociology, information technology, ethics, economics as well as psychology. It provides a foundation for effective management of people in the organization by explaining how organizations work at all organizational levels, from individual motivation to team dynamics to organizational structure. This course provides the essential knowledge and skills of effective Organizational Behaviour that can help organizations to prosper and gain competitive advantage. Competitors can easily copy a firm’s technologies, products, processes, and structures, however it is tough to duplicate a core of talented, knowledgeable, motivated employees who not only continuously improves themselves but also the organization’s performance.
This course focuses on the importance of managing operation; how to implement them strategically to improve productivity and to achieve competitiveness. In achieving this, the course covers important areas in Operation Management and two other today's operation management related concepts which are Quality Management and Supply Chain Management. Managing quality in daily operation is discussed through topics such as TQM and Statistical Process Control. Supply Chain Management on the other hand emphasizes on the challenges in matching demand and supply, eliminating waste, and reducing costly inventory. Discussions on qualitative theories and revision on quantitative techniques cover both manufacturing and service industry.
This course is designed to examine important theories and issues pertaining to corporate entrepreneurship in the competitive global market. Classical theories, the latest business models, and current issues on entrepreneurial strategy will be discussed. The focus of this seminar will be on issues and research of innovative entrepreneurial approaches and their effects on business sustainability and the firm's competitive advantages. This course examines application of best practices in strategic entrepreneurship approaches on organizational structure, systems, process. Special emphasis are on strategic renewal, strategic venturing, and entrepreneurial orientation for facilitating entrepreneurial competitive advantage.
This course covers the importance of managing knowledge and human resources, as well as developing awareness on how to gain and sustain a competitive advantage through human capital and knowledge utilization. It investigates the strategies for empowering organizational members to manage organizational transformation processes in a national and global environment. This course also examine the challenges and issues pertaining to human capital and researches that has been undertaken relating to human resources and the interplay of knowledge creation, acquisition, dissemination and utilization.
