UNIT 1: Introduction to First Aid

This learning unit explains what first aid ensues and introduces participants to the overarching principles behind first aid. It also outlines the scope of duties expected of first responders and the steps and priorities before approaching a scene.
By the end of this unit, you should be able to:

- State rescuer responsibilities before initiating care
- State the factors influencing the decision to act
