      In order for you to have  a deeper understanding on why certain principles or practices are applied when giving First Aid, you will first need to have a basic understanding on how the human body works. This learning unit will introduce you to the organization of the human body and the intricate systems which work together within the body to maintain its normal function. Common injuries which are associated with each system is also briefly outlined.


      By the end of this unit, you should be able to:

      • List the human body organization
      • Describe the major body systems and their functions
      • List the possible problems or injuries related to the body systems
      • Define homeostasis
