      This learning unit will introduce you to some common medical emergencies which you may encounter within your community and daily lives, their complications and the appropriate first aid measures. Among the conditions which will be covered are:

      • diabetes mellitus
      • allergies and anaphylactic shock
      • heart attacks
      • fainting
      • seizures
      • Strokes


      By the end of this unit, you should be able to:

      • Identify common medical emergencies
      • Relate the appropriate first aid measures to treat common medical emergencies
