This course develops students’ understanding of the importance of renewable energy systems as an alternative to the current conventional energy systems. The course initially introduces the students to the global scenario of renewable energy supply and demand as well as the drivers toward the utilisation of this energy. Subsequently, the students are presented with detailed information on the fundamentals, types, power generation and considerations for solar, wind, bioenergy, hydroelectric, geothermal, wave and tidal energy system. Towards the end of this course, the students are exposed to other renewable energy systems in conjunction with the sustainable mobility concept.
