This Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) course provides a practical overview of the EIA process and its requirements and includes the new revised EIA directive. EIA systems have become established in both developed and developing countries, usually as a legal requirement of the development control process. This EIA course identifies the key stages of the EIA process and provides advice and guidance on managing EIA projects.
This course develops students’ understanding of the fundamental concepts and practical technique on the use of process integration to maximize the efficiency and sustainability of industrial process. The course initially introduces the students to the methods and techniques to optimize processing energy efficiency, including graphical, algebraic and mathematics technique. Additional topics include process economics, targeting for conservation of energy, synthesis of innovative processes, retrofitting of existing systems, design and process pollution prevention.
