This course will introduce the students to the study of major non-communicable diseases with special emphasis on those that are relevant to Malaysia. The major non-communicable diseases include hypertension, diabetes mellitus, cancers, drug addictions, stress and others. Aspects on the distribution of diseases, main
risk factors, concepts of prevention, and identification and control of outbreaks will be emphasised.
