  This course explores the components of computer system, operating system and data communication. It integrates all of these three components to visualize computer technologies as a whole.

  
  

  
  

  

  By the end of the course you should be able to:

  •Explain the fundamental relationship between computer components, operating system and computer networks.

  •Understand the basic functions common to all operating systems and the interaction between computer component

  	Prof. Dr Tan Chong Eng is currently with the Faculty of Computer Science and Information Technology, Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS). He received B.Eng (Hons) and M.Eng from UNIMAS, and PhD from Cambridge University in the area of Wireless Broadband Access.   	Assoc. Prof. Dr Johari Abdullah is currently the dean of Faculty of Computer Science and Information Technology, Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS), Sarawak. He received his Bachelor of Computer Science (Networking) from Universiti Putra Malaysia, his Master of IT from Queensland University of Technology, Australia, and completed his PhD study at Newcastle University (UK).   	Puan Seleviawati bt Tarmizi is currently a Lecturer at the Faculty of Computer Science and Information Technology, Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS). She received her Masters of Information Technology in Data Communication (MIT (Data Communication)) from Queensland University of Technology, Brisbane, Australia.   	Puan Azlina Ahmadi Julaihi is currently a lecturer at the Faculty of Computer Science and Information Technology, Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS), Sarawak. She received her Master of Science in Computer Science from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, Skudai, Johor.   	Mr Rajan Thangaveloo is currently a lecturer at the Faculty of Computer Science and Information Technology, Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS), Sarawak. He received his Cert. of Engineering (Telecommunications) from Politeknik Kuching Sarawak, Diploma in Electrical Engineering with Education from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia. Later on he pursue his B.Eng (Hons) in Computer Engineering and Master of Science in Network Systems Engineering from The University of Plymouth, United Kingdom.
